Meet our February Employee Campaign Manager (ECM) Spotlight: Karen Cutliff of Legal Aid of Western Missouri!
Karen is a Marketing Coordinator at Legal Aid of Western Missouri where she manages donor engagement, branding, storytelling and marketing efforts.
For 18 years, Karen has led Legal Aid of Western Missouri’s United Way workplace campaign, turning fundraising into a fun and engaging experience. With a passion for creativity, she designs unique themes each year—Survivor, Murder Mystery, Broadway, and more—bringing energy and teamwork to the workplace.
“I love seeing staff out in the halls searching for clues or scavenging for a specific item—it brings energy, teamwork, and excitement to the workplace,” Karen said. She also enjoys using her personal skills to support campaigns, designing handouts, posters and more to promote each yearly theme.
As an agency partner, United Way is proud to support Legal Aid of Western Missouri in its mission to provide free civil, non-criminal legal assistance to individuals with the most need.
“Your support during and after the pandemic was especially appreciated,” Karen shared. “I love the updated funding model and the Nonprofit Catalyst Grant.”
The Nonprofit Catalyst Grant, with the support of The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, seeks to invest in small nonprofit charitable organizations in Greater Kansas City that are led by or primarily serve Black, Latino, and other People of Color.
With nearly two decades of experience, Karen’s creativity and enthusiasm continue to make a lasting impact. Read here for more stories featuring ECMs and how they are making a difference through their roles in the workplace.
