Patrick Sallee brings nearly two decades of transformational nonprofit leadership to United Way of Greater Kansas City. As President and CEO of Vibrant Health since 2017, he led remarkable growth of the federally qualified health center, expanding services from 5,000 patients and a $2.5 million budget to nearly 20,000 patients with a $28 million budget and a team of 190 staff members.
Throughout his career, Sallee has championed health equity and access in underserved communities. His leadership at Vibrant Health has brought comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services to families across Wyandotte County, with a particular focus on integrated care that treats the whole person.
Sallee’s nonprofit expertise includes senior roles as Chief External Relations Officer at Rodgers Health, Chief Development Officer at the American Red Cross Kansas City Region, and Director of Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Nonprofit Management from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
In 2022, Sallee authored The Solitary CEO: How to Overcome the Isolation That’s Holding You Back, a candid exploration of leadership challenges that draws from his personal journey through adversity and recovery. The book emphasizes authenticity, vulnerability, and community engagement as essential leadership tools.
A Kansas City resident and father of four daughters, Sallee remains deeply committed to advancing health equity and strengthening communities across the metro area.
