At Project Eagle, we envision a community where children’s futures are determined by their interests and dreams and not by their circumstances. We have three focus areas:
1. Preparing Children – through high quality learning experiences
2. Engaging Families – through strengthening parenting capacity
3. Promoting Excellence – through targeted partnerships to impact the early education field
Project Eagle, part of the University of Kansas Medical Center, has provided early childhood education services to pregnant women and young children ages 0-5 in Wyandotte County since 1989.
Our four distinct programs serve our participants and families annually, accounting for almost 1,000 children and their families:
â—Ź Connections: Early childhood screening and referral program
â—Ź Family Resource Center: Helps families access services to succeed and provide nurturing environments for their children
● Early Head Start Home Visiting: Parents living beneath the poverty threshold learn how to support children’s early learning at home and through group activities. 147 children receive this service weekly
â—Ź Educare Kansas City: Early Head Start and Head Start Center-Based services for children of families living beneath the poverty threshold. 152 children attend daily for full day, full year services.
