Established in 1949 to help Holocaust survivors, refugees and those returning from WWII, Jewish Vocational Service continues to invest in individuals and families – helping them build better lives in the United States for over 70 years. Rooted in the core value that all people have intrinsic worth and dignity, the organization engages, encourages and empowers people to achieve social, cultural and economic integration in the Greater Kansas City metro area.

Volunteer Opportunities:
- Home Set-Ups: help move and organize furniture and household goods for the homes where refugee families will be settling
- Clothing closet: sort and organize clothing used in the clothing closet accessed by JVS families
- Administration: help enter data for various programs, cover the front desk, assist in daily operations
- Mentorship: youth and career/adult mentorship opportunities
- Drives: collect goods (winter wear, back to school, hygiene supplies). They can be dropped off or dropped and assorted as a group.
- Events: assist in several JVS events held throughout the year by working the registration table, assisting with the raffle, or helping with set up or tear down
