Empower Missouri works to secure basic human needs and equal justice for every person in our state through coalition-building and advocacy.
Volunteer Information:
Volunteer Opportunities: Empower Missouri will be offering one-hour virtual learning sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday during Week of Action (March 25-28, 2024). Each session will include a brief presentation on foundational knowledge and skills that every advocate should have in their toolbox. After the skill building presentation, participants will take a deep dive into one of the issues that Empower Missouri is working on this legislative session, followed by a call to action related to that issue. Each session will be wrapped up with time for Q&A.

- WOA Wrap-Up in Weekly Perspective
Empower Missouri’s Day of Action in Jefferson City is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27th. The organization is kicking off their Day of Action with an opening rally in the First Floor Rotunda, followed by a variety of learning experiences. Participants will visit with their elected officials to share information on core policy issues in criminal justice reform, food security, affordable housing, and more. There will be opportunities to attend a variety of skill building sessions presented by Empower Missouri’s Director of Advocacy, Sarah Owsley. Participants can also observe the House and Senate while in session and attend hearings. Lunch will be provided for all registered participants.
