ECM of the Year 2026 Finalist: Tension Envelope

June 3, 2026

Serving the community is in Andrea Holder’s blood. set by her parents through the family’s involvement in church and community outreach programs..

“They didn’t do it for any sort of recognition,” Holder shared. “They just did it because they really believed in what they were doing and cared about the community. I think that has really shaped how I have become as an adult, and how I think about service and leadership.”

She first got involved with United Way when she began working as a Human Resources manager with Tension Envelope a little more than a year ago. Andrea admits she didn’t know a lot about the organization at the time, but it’s quickly become a passion.

“When I learned about United Way, I loved it. I’m on the website all the time, checking out different things that are going on, and where I can get involved,” she said. “When you give to United Way, you’re actually giving to so much, and something that’s so much bigger.”

Andrea’s also proud of the example she’s setting for her own daughters on the importance of impacting your community.

“That’s where you live. It’s where you work. And it makes a big difference,” she said.

She’s proud that during her first time running a workplace United Way giving campaign, 39% of Tension Envelope employees participated, including a dozen new donors, raising $66,000.

That leadership and ability to bring others into community is why Andra Holder is a nominee for this year’s Employee Campaign Manager of the Year honor at United Way’s annual WaymakerTM Awards.

“I think Andrea’s a great leader in her philanthropic efforts because she’s approachable and she has great ideas,” said Kay Jarvis, VP of Human Resources with Tension Envelope. “She doesn’t always have to take the lead. She sets other people up for success and creates things people want to be a part of.”
