Meet our October ECM (Employee Campaign Manager) Spotlight: Liz Wolfe! Liz works in the Philanthropy Department at Children’s Mercy Hospital (CMH) as Manager of Philanthropic Annual Giving Audiences, where she supports fundraising, giving back, and supporting both CMH and community organizations.
Liz’s work at CMH aligns perfectly with her role as ECM. “I’m all about fundraising and giving back by supporting organizations in the community. It was just a natural fit with what I do on the day-to-day.” CMH serves as a hub for patients and their families, who often rely on several community services. Liz sees it as her mission to bridge the gap between the hospital and the community. “Many families that utilize Children’s Mercy often utilize many services from the community.”
When asked about what excites her most about her role as ECM, Liz notes the recent transformations at United Way of Greater Kansas City. “I think all the new changes are very positive and donor-centric, which is huge and really allows people to give back to what they care about.” United Way has recently undergone a refreshing shift, with 100% of donations going to the organization of the donor’s choice. Liz appreciates how these changes are making United Way more accessible and relevant. “I think it’s breathing a little bit of fresh air back into United Way and impacting the community. It’s just making people more aware and making United Way cool again.”
Children’s Mercy runs a summer campaign and relies heavily on the use of their intranet to keep employees informed. With over 8,500 employees across the metro and satellite locations with overnight and weekend shifts, communication is key for their campaign to run smoothly. Our marketing and development team also created a customized video for their employees, which talked about the impact their patients and families will experience by supporting United Way, and all the great things that United Way does to support CMH.”
Thank you to Liz for sharing her ECM journey!
