Burns & McDonnell’s internal campaign is underway! To kickoff their festivities, their employees enjoyed a Waymakers™ Table. This event featured Impact 100 organization Cross-Lines Community Outreach and Nonprofit Catalyst Grantee, Exceeds Expectations, Inc. These agencies shared how change is being made across Kansas City, and our Director of 211, Kristen Engelbrecht, spoke to the current needs of our community. We ended with a surprise appearance by “Andy Reid”! Burns & McDonnell CEO, Ray Kowalik, and United Way President & CEO, Chris Rosson, rounded out the speakers for this event.
During their campaign week, Burns & McDonnell’s employees spent time packing Impact Kits for the Kansas City community. Their team dedicated the time and resources to assemble 200 Impact Kits filled with essential health and hygiene items. Each Impact Kit includes vital items such as shampoo, toothbrushes, and washcloths. A heartfelt handwritten note of encouragement is added to each kit. Impact Kits are delivered to partner agencies for them to distribute to those in need, with a special focus on houseless individuals and families in Kansas City.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Burns & McDonnell for their unwavering commitment to making Kansas City a better place for all. It is through such remarkable initiatives that we continue to drive positive change, one community at a time!
