Video: CommUNITY Fest 2025

At United Way of Greater Kansas City, we believe in the collective power of our community to create lasting change. CommUNITY Fest 2025, presented by Delta Air Lines, brought that spirit to life harnessing the energy of volunteers to advocate, give back, and celebrate local impact.

Attendees came together not just to celebrate, but to commit to building a stronger future. From hands-on service projects and meaningful connections with nonprofit partners to inspiring stories of hope and shared advocacy for equity, it was an impactful day of service. Together, volunteers…

  • Packed hundreds of Happy Kits at Children’s Mercy
  • Wrapped 18,000 diapers to go out to clients at HappyBottoms
  • Created bags and prepared for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties’ Teen Expo event
  • Kept operations afloat at Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City
  • Sorted 3500+ pounds of food at Kanbe’s Markets
  • Organized the clothing and hygiene closet at Cornerstones of Care so that kids entering the foster system feel supported
  • Got an apartment ready at Cornerstones of Care
  • Painted fences and harvested crops at Drumm Farm Center for the Children
  • Prepared meals for our community at Thelma’s Kitchen
  • Made 500 bandanas and 200 meals at Pawsperity
  • Got gardens ready for fall at Metro Lutheran Ministry’s Garden and Orchard
  • Packed laundry supplies at Jewish Family Services
  • Organized the Jewish Vocational Service closing closet for refugee and immigrant clients
  • Sorted food at Harvesters to go out to 27 counties
  • Created cards of homebound seniors
  • Participated in digital literacy games
  • Wrote letters of encouragement
  • Participated in a poverty simulation
  • Made love notes
  • Made hygiene kits
  • Cut and sewed tote bags
  • Learned self defense
