United Way of Greater Kansas City proudly supports several Impact 100 partners that provide life-changing recovery and prevention programs. From medical care and mental health support to housing and peer mentorship, these organizations are helping Kansas Citians find the stability and hope they deserve.



Here are five local partners making a powerful impact in the fight against addiction:
1. Healing House KC
Healing House provides a safe and supportive community for individuals seeking freedom from addiction. With recovery homes across Kansas City, Healing House offers transitional housing, spiritual growth, employment support, and peer-led programming that helps residents rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose. Each year, hundreds of men and women find a new beginning through their recovery-centered community.
2. Swope Health
Swope Health’s comprehensive behavioral health and substance use services ensure that individuals can access the help they need — all in one place. Its team of counselors, physicians, and peer specialists provides therapy, detox coordination, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT), helping patients take control of their recovery journey with compassion and evidence-based care.
3. ReDiscover
ReDiscover focuses on whole-person care, offering mental health and substance use treatment across multiple locations in the metro area. Through outpatient programs, crisis stabilization, and recovery housing, they empower individuals to overcome addiction and build healthier, more stable lives. Their approach integrates trauma-informed care with wraparound services to support long-term recovery.
4. First Call
First Call provides prevention, recovery, and support services for individuals and families impacted by substance use. From counseling and recovery coaching to community education and harm reduction programs, its team is focused on saving lives and breaking cycles of addiction. First Call also distributes Harm Reduction Bags containing naloxone (Narcan), fentanyl test strips, and educational materials — giving people the tools to stay safe and informed.
5. University Health Behavioral Health
University Health’s Behavioral Health division offers a wide range of addiction recovery services, including detox, inpatient treatment, and intensive outpatient care. Its integrated team of medical professionals, therapists, and caseworkers provides compassionate, personalized care to help patients navigate both the physical and emotional challenges of recovery.
