ECM Spotlight: Shantaja Heath of Arvest Bank

October 1, 2025

Meet Shantaja Heath, Community Marketing Specialist at Arvest Bank and Employee Campaign Manager for United Way of Greater Kansas City. For the past three years, Shantaja has poured her energy and creativity into leading her company’s workplace campaign, inspiring her colleagues to get involved and give back.

When Shantaja first stepped into the ECM role, she realized there was an opportunity to build momentum. “Once I became more educated about United Way and understood how much it does for our community, I was completely committed,” she said.

One of her proudest moments came during United Way’s CommUNITY Fest, when her team volunteered at Children’s Mercy. While there, a mother shared how her daughter had been in the ER and received one of the care packages Shantaja’s team assembled, as well as how much her children loved it.

“The experience truly highlighted how all the work we do, no matter how big or small, makes a significant difference. It’s a wonderful reminder that someone is smiling because of our efforts,” she shared.

Shantaja describes Arvest Bank’s work with United Way of Greater Kansas City as a natural fit, reflecting its core pillars and commitment to strengthening the communities it serves.

“We firmly believe that our collaboration with United Way is more than just a donation; it is a strategic investment in the health and prosperity of our community,” she said. “This partnership powerfully reflects our dedication to being an engaged corporate citizen.”

By creating tangible community impact, reinforcing shared values, and fostering meaningful employee engagement, the work is impactful for both the community and inside the workplace.

Shantaja’s advice for fellow ECMs: “Have fun with whatever you do!”

Thanks to leaders like Shantaja, United Way campaigns can continue supporting and empowering local neighbors in need. Learn about other incredible ECMs making an impact in our community through their role as ECM here.
