Strengthening Community Partnerships with GM

July 19, 2023

GM Employees meet with United Way CEO and VP of Community Impact and other community stakeholders

We are thrilled to share that our President & CEO, Chris Rosson, and VP of Community Impact & Executive Director of 211, Todd Jordan, Ph.D., recently had the privilege of meeting with Michael Youngs, Plant Executive Director of General Motors. This gathering of select community stakeholders provided an opportunity to receive insightful updates about the GM plant, ongoing production, and labor negotiations.

We are incredibly honored to be a recipient of a corporate gift from the GM foundation, which supports our transformative Family Empowerment Initiative. GM’s dedication to making a positive impact in our community is evident through their recent awarding of $300,000 in grants to local nonprofits, with over 2,200 employees and a remarkable $1B invested in the plant since 2013, the Fairfax Assembly Plant continues to flourish.

We are proud to be a part of this journey as the plant manufactures the Cadillac XT4 and Chevy Malibu, contributing to the local economy and providing valuable opportunities for our community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to General Motors, Michael Youngs, and all the stakeholders involved for their unwavering support and belief in our mission. Together, we will continue to empower families, strengthen our community, and create a brighter future for all.
