United Way Opens Impact 100 Applications to All KC Metro Nonprofits

October 7, 2024

Impact 100 Applications Now Live

United Way of Greater Kansas City is pleased to announce that applications for this year’s Impact 100 grants are now open. In a major shift, applications are no longer invite-only and are open to all nonprofits within United Way’s six-county service area that fall within our primary health and human service focus areas: healthcare, educational and youth opportunity, financial security and community resiliency.

The Impact 100 is United Way’s rigorous annual process of selecting the one hundred organizations we will invest in and partner with to bring real-time solutions to our community.

Individuals from the community are invited to volunteer to become community advisory members, helping select organizations that will receive funding this year. Each organization must meet a high bar of financial responsibility and be actively working to address the critical challenges facing the Kansas City region today. Impact 100 organizations will receive unrestricted funding from United Way to address their individual nonprofit’s most pressing needs.

“The Impact 100 selection process provides a unique opportunity each year for United Way to assess the incredible work of our local nonprofit sector,” said Essence Yancey, United Way Community Impact Director. “Our community members also have the ability to be engaged in and inform this process, which ensures we have a diverse, thoughtful approach to grantmaking as we work toward a Kansas City where all have the ability to thrive.”

Nonprofits interested in applying for grant funding can find application materials at unitedwaygkc.org/impact-100/. A series of informational webinars will also be held this week for provide additional details. Grant applications are due by October 25th.

Individuals interested in volunteering to help selected nonprofit organizations as community advisory members should submit applications by October 31st. Interested parties should reach out to impact100volunteer@uwgkc.org.
