The Board of Trustees of United Way of Greater Kansas City (UWGKC) today announced that Chris Rosson will be departing from his role as Chief Executive Officer after leading the organization through a number of significant milestones.
Rosson led the organization beginning in 2021, guiding the United Way of Greater Kansas City through a brand refresh and modernization, spearheading a successful partnership with the Kansas City Current professional women’s soccer team and establishing the KC Strong fund, which provided support for the victims of the shooting following the 2024 KC Super Bowl parade rally.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we offer our gratitude to Chris for his innovative leadership, for guiding our United Way through a number of important endeavors and for strengthening the organization to serve our community for many years to come,” said Board Chair Greg Sweat.
“It has been my honor to serve the United Way and the greater Kansas City region over the past four years,” said Rosson. “I feel a great deal of satisfaction knowing the organization is in excellent shape to continue making an impact for many generations to come.”
The Board will establish a search committee and will soon launch a national search for a new leader.
