United Way Assisting California Wildfire Victims

January 10, 2025

Devastating wildfires are wreaking havoc in areas around Los Angeles, California. As of Friday, more than 180,000 people have been evacuated and 10 deaths have been reported in connection to the fires.

A total of five wildfires are actively burning across thousands of acres. Four of them are less than 40% contained. High winds of 40-60 mph have made firefighting extremely challenging.

United Way of Greater Los Angeles is working to assist communities in both the immediate response and long-term recovery efforts. If you would like to learn more or pledge support to help, read here.
