ECM Spotlight: Kelsey Tucci of Burns & McDonnell

June 5, 2024

Meet our June Employee Campaign Manager (ECM) Spotlight: Kelsey Tucci of Burns & McDonnell!

Kelsey works as a Community Relations Strategist where she oversees employee-driven programs such as employee giving campaigns, volunteer activities, matching gifts, and more. She has been with Burns & McDonnell since late 2019 and began her journey as an ECM in 2020.

One of Kelsey’s favorite parts about running a United Way campaign is the unity it brings to her company. “Everyone is participating in various activities and events to raise awareness around United Way and it is really cool to see us all rally together towards bettering our communities,” she said. One volunteer activity she enjoys is United Way’s on-site impact kit packing event where volunteers can assemble baby, dental, hygiene, or period kits that are distributed to our Impact 100 nonprofit partners.

Working with United Way is one way Burns & McDonnell furthers its commitment of supporting its community. “We believe in giving back to our communities and Burns & McDonnell has been doing just that for over 60 years by teaming up with United Way. This partnership helps us address important social issues and make a positive impact,” Kelsey said. In 2023, they exceeded their campaign goal of $4.1 million companywide raising more the $5.1 million with nearly 70% participation. In Kansas City alone, they exceeded their $2.5 million campaign goal raising just under $3 million.

Kelsey describes her ECM experience as rewarding. “While it involves a lot of work, witnessing our giving culture in action and experiencing the consistent generosity of our employee-owners year after year is truly special,” she shared.

We are so thankful for Kelsey’s dedication to making a positive impact in our community and for her and her company’s incredible support of United Way. Keep a look out for more impactful stories as we continue to highlight ECMs who are driving positive change in our community.
