In celebration of Women’s History Month, we are delighted to spotlight the philanthropic journey of Katasha Kumar Jünk, Director of Global Sales & Revenue Operations at C2FO. Katasha is a dedicated advocate for education, mentorship, and community well-being. Her involvement in various organizations embodies the spirit of positive change and empowerment.
“For the past seven years, I have been actively involved with Big Brothers & Big Sisters, serving as their Junior Board president for two years,” shares Katasha. Her commitment reflects a passion for mentorship, guiding youth towards brighter futures through meaningful connections and support.
Another organization close to Katasha’s heart is Give Something Back, where mentors contribute their time to support a mentee who receives a full-ride scholarship for their college education. This commitment to fostering education showcases Katasha’s belief in the power of mentorship and access to higher education.
As the child of an immigrant, Katasha holds a personal connection to immigrant and refugee resettlement services and is committed to building an inclusive community. “I’ve recently joined the board of JVS, an organization dedicated to welcoming immigrants and refugees to our community,” Katasha shares. “This cause is particularly significant to me, and I am eager to contribute to the integration and support of newcomers in our community.”
In addition to her roles in Big Brothers & Big Sisters and JVS, Katasha volunteers at Win for KC events, supports United Way, and recently got involved with the KC Women’s Pro Volleyball team. Each cause resonates with her on a personal level, reflecting her commitment to education, mentorship, immigrant support, and overall community well-being.
“I have always been deeply involved in philanthropy as I believe in the power of community engagement and giving back,” emphasizes Katasha. Her commitment extends beyond financial contributions, as she finds fulfillment in raising awareness and being an active part of positive changes within her community.
When asked who Katasha draws inspiration from, she says Melinda Gates and her strategic approach to giving. “Her strategic approach to choosing impactful organizations for her philanthropic efforts aligns with my values.” Locally in Kansas City, she admires numerous women making significant contributions to the community. “There are truly too many to name, but I try to surround myself with others, men, women, and non-binary folks who have a passion and want to give back to our community.”
Katasha’s goal is to foster an environment where women can thrive and reach their full potential, contributing to the collective effort to create positive change in various aspects of the community. “Giving back to other women and supporting women-led and serving organizations is about recognizing and addressing the unique challenges and opportunities that women face,” Katasha says. “It involves fostering an environment where women can thrive, empowering them to reach their full potential. By contributing to such organizations, I aim to be a part of the collective effort to create positive change for women in various aspects of our community.”
Katasha is looking forward to meeting other women philanthropists through United Way’s events and learning about their experiences. “Attending Women United events presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals dedicated to advancing the well-being of women in our community,” says Katasha. “I am looking forward to those that provide a platform for networking, sharing experiences, and collectively strategizing on how we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of women in our community.”
Katasha’s philanthropic journey is inspiring and demonstrates the power of giving back and supporting community. As we honor her during Women’s History Month, we recognize Katasha as an advocate and catalyst for positive change. Her commitment to education, mentorship, and community well-being inspires us all to be active participants in creating a more inclusive and empowered society.
