Let’s express our gratitude on International Volunteer Day to those who generously contribute their time to help build more equal and inclusive societies!
International Volunteer Day, established in 1985 by the United Nations General Assembly, is a day to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of millions of volunteers around the world who dedicate their time, skills, and resources to make a difference. Our world would not look the same without the power of volunteers.
Today and everyday, we want to show our appreciation to Kansas City’s volunteers. Meet Emily Puthawala, a volunteer with Impact 100 agency, Jackson County CASA. Emily dedicates time from her busy schedule as a graduate student to serve as a mentor for one of CASA’s young individuals, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and support they require. “I wanted to get involved with something where I felt like I was making a one-on-one difference and I was there for kids in those moments when they felt really alone, and CASA allows you to do that. Being a CASA volunteer makes you that person.”
We sincerely thank each and every volunteer, as you are the true champions behind our efforts! Today, take the time to show your appreciation and thankfulness to those who go the extra mile in supporting communities across the globe.
