Meet Lauren Rios, Director of Sales + Marketing at Platinum XP.
Lauren’s favorite Latino traditions are surrounded in family and food. “The importance of a close family unit is so strong in our community and I truly cherish that.”
During this month, Lauren encourages people with diverse backgrounds to step outside of their comfort zone regarding Hispanic Heritage Month. “Open yourself up to other perspectives, education and awareness about the Hispanic culture and the impact that is has on our own community.” She also encourages Kansas Citians to “research locally Latinx owned businesses and show them love all year round!”
Lauren suggests that anyone has the chance and wants to learn more about the culture, to attend Impact 100 organization, Mattie Rhodes Center’s, upcoming Dia de los Muertos Calaca Light-Up Parade on Friday, November 3rd. This celebration closes out the the annual holiday with a parade, festival, food, entertainment and more. It’s also the last chance to view their altars, ofrendas, and artwork.
