“United Way of Greater Kansas City is gearing up to launch its annual campaign.
I’m proud to give to this organization because they ensure gifts are focused on addressing the most urgent needs in our community. It is amazing to me that they serve 1 in 3 people in our six-county region. That is just remarkable and demonstrates an ability to magnify the effect of individual donations to move the needle in the areas of education, health and financial stability. They’re a trusted partner, an important community convener, and they always come to the table with new ways to help address some of the biggest challenges facing our world. Through resources like 211, United Way is a constant and present force answering our community’s call. In short, when I give to United Way, I know my dollars are supporting lives locally.
It’s also personally meaningful that United Way provides a valuable donor experience, inviting the community into opportunities for professional networking, volunteer service, and learning about how we can all make our community a better place to live, work, and thrive for everyone. Being part of the Women United network has given me the opportunity to collaborate with women in our community who share a passion for making a difference through advocacy, volunteerism and philanthropy. Our focused efforts on advancing early childhood development helps ensure our youngest neighbors are set up for success from an early age. And we have fun while doing it!
If your workplace supports a United Way campaign, I encourage you to give. If you don’t have a workplace campaign, you can give online at unitedwaygkc.org/donate. Even a few dollars a month can make a huge difference. Please join me in supporting this great community – together we can amplify our impact.
There are a million ways to be united. What’s yours??”
