AGENCY HIGHLIGHT: TRI-COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are excited to highlight Impact 100 organization, Tri-County Mental Health Services. This crucial agency provides prevention and recovery-oriented mental health and substance use services which are quality assured and person-centered, with increased attention to the “whole person.”
Tri-County is excited to recognize Philip as an exceptional consumer success story. Every year, Tri-County has an open call for nominations for awards in various categories, including “Outstanding Consumer of the Year”. This year, their consumer was nominated by two different staff: Jeff Stephens, Manager of Employment Services, as well as Jody Murphy, Manager of the Day Program.
Philip is a long-time member of Tri-County’s North Star program, which offers education and recreational group activities for adults living with mental health disorders, and is lauded for being a leader at the program, always eager to assist with anything from organizing and cleaning to helping out in the kitchen and preparing food.
Philip’s other skills range from customer service and running the register to helping train volunteers and taking inventory. He works hard and is dependable, patient and helpful with others. He has recently been hired by Tri-County as a support staff member in the North Star program. He will be assisting in the kitchen, covering some janitorial duties and will help launch an exciting new “Snack Shack” as we renovate our building.
Tri-County is proud to highlight Philip as one of the many incredible success stories they see at Tri-County Mental Health Services on a daily basis. To learn more about the programs and services provided to residents of Clay, Platte and Ray Counties, visit their website.
We can continue to support Tri-County, and other agencies in Kansas City that provide mental health services, thanks to your partnership and donations!
