Volunteer in Your Community

Volunteer at a Local Nonprofit

The United Way Volunteer Center is your source for connecting to projects in the Greater Kansas City area. Our staff can help you find opportunities at local nonprofit organizations that match your skills, interests and schedule. You’ll find current volunteer opportunities listed online for individuals , groups, and youth/families.

If you’re interested in joining the board of directors of a local nonprofit, the Volunteer Center compiles lists of available board positions in the Board Opportunities Guide.

Volunteer for United Way

Each year, United Way supports nearly 300 programs in 150 partner non-profit agencies. Decisions about how to invest funds are made every three years by teams of volunteers who review funding proposals from applicant agencies. People from diverse backgrounds and experiences are needed to make this effort a success.
